Looking beyond sustainable design, nicholas always strives to create urban environments which contribute positively to the biosphere. This means not simply “keeping things as they are” – which “sustainability” implies – but making a real difference.
We advocate for “vertical cities” as a positive means of urban intensification. Vertical cities are true mixed-use communities combining living, work and leisure functions – together with outdoor space – within the same building or development.
Single-use city centres are the past. Vertical intensification of our urban hubs can best be achieved by combining a range of compatible uses which enrich user experience.
We strongly believe that development should be regenerative – improving outcomes for both the environment and for people.
