Biomimicry

April 17, 2025

We are making great progress in our Middle East cities with outdoor public infrastructure and improved connectivity.

The civic realm comes alive when people can comfortably use it, even in hot weather.

We know that it’s possible, through good design, to naturally cool the environment by 5-7 degrees Celsius.

Let’s lower the temperature via biomimicry – to help people spend more of their time outdoors.

The term “biomimicry” in architecture refers to the application of principles which are found in nature and are translated into the design of sustainable solutions – like these “palm” shade structures which turn the ground plane below into a “forest floor”.

We strongly believe that development should be regenerative – improving outcomes for both the environment and for people.
