Nicholas Bonaventure is recording comments about buildings which have shaped his architectural thinking.
The Genesis Building in Singapore, by Kerry Hill, formed part of the architect’s rise to prominence in the 1990s. Nicholas believes it is a seminal example of small-scale, mixed-use tropical architecture which is really well adapted to the local climate and environment.
Buildings don’t have to be large or prominent to impact the city positively or to further the cause of urbanism – although this one, at the time, was an award-winner.
