nicholas’ Managing Director, Nicholas Bonaventure is delighted to be speaking tomorrow at the Design in Bahrain conference at the British University of Bahrain Auditorium.
Many thanks to the British University of Bahrain and to Simon Key-Jones for organising what promises to be an important and timely event.
I’ll be joining Dr Wafa Alghatam, Assistant Professor and Head of the Urban and Housing Lab at the University of Bahrain, and Daniel Dugina, CEO of Beyon’s Digital City Development Company, to discuss:
Designing Bahrain’s Urban Future Through Mixed-Use Developments
At a moment when Bahrain, like many nations, is confronting profound twenty-first century social, environmental, and economic challenges, the question of how we shape our cities has never been more important.
My contribution to the discussion will focus on the unique role architects can and should play in national realignment. Architects are trained to think holistically – to connect infrastructure, housing, public realm, mobility, sustainability, culture, and social life into coherent urban systems. This perspective is essential if we are to create resilient, inclusive, and future-oriented environments.
Mixed-use development is not simply a commercial or planning model; it is an opportunity to rethink how people live, work, interact, and belong within the built environment.
